5-When he arrived to the airport, there was no plane. It had already taken off.
6-She didn’t go to bed until she had set her alarm clock.
7-The fire had already spread to the neighbouring houses when the fire brigade arrived.
8-Mounia and Jamal had been e-mailing each other before they got married.
10-Jim had been studying computer science for three years before he graduated.
III-EXERCISE: -PUT THE VERBS BETWEEN BRACKETS IN THE CORRECT TENSE: SIMPLE PAST OR PAST PERFECT.
1-When I (arrive) yesterday morning, Merriam (leave/already) to Rabat.
